About this cake
The whole design rests on the calligraphy. Our decorator writes directly onto the set fondant with edible ink using a nastaliq hand, which means the strokes taper properly instead of looking like a printed font. Most families choose the couple’s names, a shaadi date, or a couplet from a wedding song.
The yellow fondant is rolled thin and polished so the ink sits crisp with no bleeding — a detail that matters, because Urdu script loses its character the moment the ink spreads. We let each cake rest before writing for exactly this reason.
