About this cake
Both tiers are hand-painted in a marbled black, deep burgundy and white pattern with gold veining running through it, then finished with chocolate truffles, berries and shards along the step between the tiers.
The marbling is painted directly onto set chocolate panels, so no two cakes come out identical. It photographs dramatically under warm lighting, which is why it is popular for evening events.
It is a milestone cake: 25th and 30th birthdays, engagements, anniversary dinners and corporate celebrations. The two tiers together serve roughly thirty to forty people.
