About this cake
Ferrero Rocher pralines in their gold wrappers are set around the crown alongside broken chocolate bars, over a heavy dark ganache drip that pours down a tall semi-naked barrel of chocolate sponge and hazelnut cream.
Inside, the layers are filled with a hazelnut chocolate cream that echoes the Ferrero itself, with crushed hazelnuts scattered between them for texture. It is the closest thing we bake to eating a whole box of Ferrero in slice form.
It is a favourite gifting cake — birthdays, thank-you cakes and Eid gifting. The gold of the wrappers photographs well against dark chocolate, so it is also popular for evening parties.
