About this cake
The flowers are piped individually in buttercream with a petal tip, then clustered so the blooms drift diagonally across the cake rather than sitting in a neat ring. Each blossom takes a separate squeeze and turn, which is why a fully covered three-pounder carries well over a hundred of them.
The pastel green base is a deliberate step away from the saturated mehndi-green most people expect. It reads fresher in daylight and against white marquee fabric, and it lets the pink flowers stay the loudest thing on the cake.
Buttercream flowers are softer than fondant ones and taste better, but they do not like heat. For an outdoor daytime mehndi we can pipe in a stabilised Swiss meringue buttercream that holds far longer in Lahore weather.

Are the flowers real or piped?
Every flower is piped in buttercream by hand, so the whole cake is edible. We can add a few fresh food-safe blooms on top if you want extra height, but the design does not rely on them.
Will buttercream flowers survive an outdoor daytime mehndi?
Order the stabilised buttercream version and keep the cake shaded — it holds well for a couple of hours outdoors. In peak summer we recommend fondant flowers instead, which are heat-proof.
